Oh, the Fuck Well!
How far are you willing to let your ‘isms’ and phobias diminish your survival?
There is a poem by Charles Osgood that goes…
…This is a little story about four people named Everybody,
Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody
would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody
wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could
have done.
If Fuck Around and Find Out had a place in the land of
stupidity, insanity, vanity, and greed, it would be the United States. Trump
supporters about to find out. Homophobes about to find out. Transphobes about
to find out. Xenophobes about to find out. Islamophobes about to find out.
Elitists about to find out. The list goes on. I’ve always said all things are
linked—‘isms’ and phobias add up to destruction. If you believe in a higher
power, then you’ve probably come to realize this for yourself as well. The
world runs on a linear scale, but people run in circles. Everything about hate
and love are all linked on two endpoints of a line. Life and the experience of
life is a linear spectrum.
I remember an interview Shannon Sharpe conducted on his
YouTube show, Club Shay Shay last year with comedian, Katt Williams. Katt
Williams said a lot of prophetic and profound things about celebrities,
America, and the world en large. His main point was that a lot of things were
going to begin to be exposed in 2024 and most people focused on the
salaciousness of his commentary about celebrities being exposed. Yet, he made a
very poignant point when he stated, “Race is not where the line is drawn. It's
God's side and the other side. And we don't care nothing about the other side,
period. All of these ... deviants is all catching hell in 2024. It's up for all
of them. It don't matter if you Diddy or whoever you is. TD Jakes, any of them.
All lies will be exposed, that's all. And anyone who takes that the wrong way,
know why they take it the wrong way. The truth is the light.” There’s such a
divisive spirit that has always circulated around the foundational development
of America’s infrastructures, values, and traditions. There’s no hiding that
race has played a significant part in the development of America, but for
straight, white, Puritan-Christian, rich men, it never mattered who the
“slaves” were as long as it wasn’t them. They started with poor, whites as
indentured servants, then moved on to Indigenous, and then Africans. Class
distinctions have always been the underlying goal with race and sex
interlinking to draw out those distinctions of class even more. Class, is the infrastructure by which all
things have been designed, policed, and incorporated. The infrastructure was
never designed to incorporate benefits for “Other” as race nor “female” sex,
let alone sexual orientation nor self-gendered identities. However, that lil
nasty democratic system disrupted the intended infrastructure—oligarchy,
aristocracy, authoritative. Many of us pledged allegiance to the propaganda of
the United States and that made us “comfortable,” if only for a little while or
embedded ourselves in the delusion of comfort because we made a few strides in
the American Dream or settled with performative progression.
In hindsight, I recently saw a post that was quoting from a
Chinese meme that said something along the lines that Americans believe they
have freedoms because they have opinions when really they don’t have choices. We are far too tethered to our comfort than
confronting the enemy within. Aren’t we all just one big dysfunctional family.
There is nothing about your being that makes you
exempt from trepidations imposed upon you by evil intentions, whether you’re a
man, a citizen, wealthy, employed, successful, “getting by,” housed, and/or
able-bodied, your time of finding out is knocking at the door. What will we
find out? Will we find out, “oh, the fuck well,” your dumbass had that coming
or “oh, the fuck well,” it is what it is, and we normalize chaos? We all have
the capacity to find out what we’re all made of. Will you ride the coattails of protestors, or
will you protest? Will you be a foot soldier for injustice or stand up to it?
Who are you, really?
Now that we’re all in the same equality boat to hell, will
we collectively be anybody, somebody, everybody, or nobody?
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me –Pastor Martin Niemoller
